David Haye vs John Ruiz
Newly-crowned WBA World Heavyweight champion David 'The Hayemaker' Haye will make his first defence of his title against number one-ranked contender John 'The Quiet Man' Ruiz.
The scheduled 12-rounder will take place at Manchester's M.E.N Arena on Saturday 3 April and will be televised live on Sky Box Office.Considered the most explosive puncher in world boxing today, Haye seeks another highlight-reel knockout against Ruiz, a former champion only ever stopped once in 54 professional fights.Speaking ahead of his Manchester bout, Haye said: "This is going to be one of the most dramatic heavyweight fights in years. "Ever since watching the Tyson fight I've always wanted to fight here. I've been a regular for all the Hatton fights and the atmosphere in the M.E.N Arena on these big nights is outstanding."

John Mayer
John Mayer will make his M.E.N Arena debut this summer. The blues influenced guitarist will be showcasing songs from his latest album, Battle Studies, alongside work from his first three albums Room For Squares, Heavier Things and Continuum. Mayer was born in 1977 in Connecticut and started playing guitar at 13 after being inspired by a Stevie Ray Vaughan tape his neighbour gave him. In 1998 he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he began his solo career with the release of his Inside Wants Out EP. In 2003, Mayer won a Grammy Award for Best Male Vocal Performance for the single Your Body Is A Wonderland and, two years later, followed this with The Song Of The Year Grammy for Daughters, taken from his second album Heavier Things. Who Says, the first single from his latest collection, Battle Studies, is out now.

JLS end an incredible year by announcing their first headline show at the M.E.N Arena on Thursday 16 December 2010. Speaking ahead of their Manchester return, the band said: "It's every singers dream to play venues like Manchester's M.E.N Arena to such huge audiences! It's going to be a spectacular and we can't wait for all our supporters to see the show!" JLS have had a phenomenal first year. Their first two singles, Beat Again and Everybody In Love, debuted at Number 1. The quartets self-titled debut album, released last month, stormed to the top of the album charts to make it the fastest selling debut by a group since the Arctic Monkeys in 2006. As well as record-breaking sales, JLS have picked up two MOBOs for Best Newcomer and Best Song for Beat Again. JLS - Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan 'JB' Gill and Oriste Williams - will be releasing their third single, One Shot, in February next year.

Pop royalty Westlife have confirmed they will perform at the M.E.N Arena on Friday 28 May 2010 as part of their massive new tour. The first act to sell over 250,000 tickets in the history of the Arena, the Irish band's 2010 Where We Are tour will see them play the Manchester venue for a phenomenal 28th time - surpassing the joint record they hold with Take That. Shane, Mark, Kian and Nicky will perform all their classic hits, including Flying Without Wings, You Raise Me Up and Mandy, as well as tracks from their brand new album Where We Are, out now. Rod Stewart returns to the M.E.N Arena next spring to showcase tracks from his brand new album Soulbook. The legendary singer-songwriter returns to the Manchester venue for the first time in five years to perform tracks from Soulbook alongside hits from his 45-plus year back catalogue. The former Faces front man has sold over 250 million albums and singles worldwide including the classic tracks Maggie May, Sailing, You Wear It Well, Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? And The First Cut Is The Deepest. Soulbook, Stewart's 12th number one album, is a collection of 60's/70's soul anthems and includes duets with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Mary J. Blige.

Having sold 2 million tickets to date on her current worldwide Funhouse Tour, P!nk has announced via her Twitter that she will be returning in 2010 with The Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour to break new ground at six stadiums across the UK, kicking off on Saturday 12th June in Bolton at the Reebok Stadium. This will be the first outdoor stadium tour for P!nk and the shows are promised to be even bigger and more elaborate than her arena show. Tickets will go on sale on Monday 9th November 2009 and are sure to fly out, so book early to avoid missing out.

Dancing On Ice - The Tour
Torvill & Dean return to the M.E.N Arena next spring as part of Dancing On Ice Live's fourth UK tour. The skating duo return to the Manchester venue - the home of their 1995 record-breaking performance - from Thursday 22nd - Sunday 25th April 2010 with tickets going onsale at 9.00am Monday 2nd November. Al0l the celebrities will be trained and choreographed by Torvill & Dean, who will also perform at the Manchester shows. The celebrity line-up will be announced soon, together with the panel of rink-side judges who will critique their performances.
